to dance the dance we never had

Folder:
My trashcan poetry

the path lies painted against a group of hills pointing like a crooked finger toward

the mountains silhouetted against the sky
I once felt the hope it promises for a new beginning.
a distant storm on the horizon where the air is heavy
with the scent of rain
you can hear the thunder rolling far away
knowing at any moment the sky
will open up soaking your hair and drench your clothes
and all the while you pray it washes away the pain
whoever reads this, (secretly I hope it's you)
remember I am who I am and you are you...
We are different, we are opposites, yet were the same
and I have loved you then as I love you now
I would like to dance beneath the rain quietly silently just drifting away
ah yes ...... to dance the dance we never had
