each night I spend putting demons aside
till I'm alone in a inner silence
which promotes a clarity of mind
just as light brightens darkness chasing
one's fears of the darkness away
I can see in hindsight where love knows
not its own depth until it finds it's equal
and only at the hour of it's separation
then and only then does one realize
when we share a life with caring
and the willingness to love unconditionally
then this will have been worthwhile
what you believe is success in life is often
at the expense of others and love becomes
a victim of collateral damage
it is by going down into the abyss with
heart and eyes wide open that you find
the goal of life is to make your heartbeat
match the heartbeat of the other
I can see in hindsight where love knows
not its own depth until it finds it's equal
and then only at the hour of it's separation.
love fades but never dies
if I've ever told you I love you
