I wish I could of

with sleight of hand and twist of fate
on a bed of nails they makes me wait
first they say they want you
how they really need you
then suddenly you find you're out there
all alone walking in a storm that never seems to end
who was wrong And who was right
It didn't seem to matter in the thick of the fight

I wish I could of just made you turn around
turn around and see me cry
but they taught us tears are something to hide
something to fear.
no wedding day smiles
no walk down the aisle
no flowers
no girl in a wedding dress

we drank a toast to innocence lost
then they handed us a M-16
tugging at the darkness trying to forget the fear
we drank a toast to now. and tried to
reach beyond the loneliness
but no one knew how
insecurity an the loss of love
the things that won't be forgotten

who was right and who was wrong
It doesn't matter in the thick of the fight
I wish I could of just made you turn around
turn around
and let you see me cry
