standing in grass of emerald green

I remember standing in grass of emerald green

looking up towards the chimney rock as patches
of aspen give way to pine
some call this the rockies
I call it a way to live
close your eye's and listen to the wind
open up your mind to the sense's once thought dead
an see through the birds eye view of the hawk
gliding in circles above
high peaks still covered by a late season snow give off
a cool breeze that brushes against my face
the sent of pine is heavy in the air
up wind stands a baby elk an it's mother
my eyes stay transfixed there
this is a sight that deserves a stare
for this moment the past and present are one and the same
hovering between yesterday and today
I find myself hoping to put tomorrow off even if it's only a few minutes
nothing beats day's like today
I've been gone entirely to long but the mountain still
call's to me in my mind and in my dreams

I just sooo wanna go there! I

I just sooo wanna go there! I need to have some adventutre and quiet me time. This is my feeling when im at the beach on the cliffs with the strong wind blowing standing on a high cliff. Soul filling, cleansing calming, alive and free. Loved this write.

Don't let any one shake your dream stars from your eyes, lest your soul Come away with them! -SS

A Vantage

"...the mountain still calls to me..." Yes it does - Loved the images, and the length of the write - I was wowed by the panorama of "a way of life" in which nature nurtures - Lady A
