Everyday is passing quickly

every hour goes astray

i want to go here

but life drags me the other way

we were friends once

but you went in a different direction

there were so many things

that my parents forgot to mention

more of the important stuff

like how to keep a friend

and how to build a relationship

that i'd never need to mend

Why... is life slipping away

leaving us behind

you'd think that when we graduated

everyone would smile and cheer

but all i could see in everyone's eyes

was sadness and tears

i guess it's because we never thought

that this day would come

never thought we'd have to leave each other

all the days leading up till now

were littered with broken friendships and broken hearts

sad endings

and brand new starts
