As the day turns to night,
Darkness creeps around every corner of the house,
The stairs creak and crack,
No sounds are heard, but the squeak of a mouse.
As the halls fill with an erie sound,
Shivers tremble up your cold spine,
Shikey, SHIkey, SHIKEY,
It is worse than an old cat's whine.
The sound gets louder and more clear,
Your ears are ringing with fear,
Your hands turn purple from the blood in your veins,
And across the house, the sound smears.
Slowly you step down the hall,
Your heart pounding as hard as could be,
Shikey,SHIkey, SHIKEY,
The lights burn out it is so hard to see.
The frame of the bathroom door is lit,
But these halls are so very dark,
Time is no longer of essence,
When outside a dog won't even bark.
You get to the door of the bathroom,
And put your hand on the knob,
Shikey, SHIkey, SHIKEY,
What could it be? A giant glob?
Slowly, you turn the handle and open the door,
And you quietly start to hum,
Oh, what terror your expecting to see,
It's only grandma, up late brushing her gums.
I loved this.... I laughed so hard.... I can just see my grandma in the bathroom brushing her gums....LOL... you have a way with words.... I am really enjoying your work....
