Love is a Verb

Folder:
2010

Sneak into my life.

Press the levers and

Open the doors of my heart.

Shimmy your way through the tiny opening

never worrying who may see you or

     what they might say.

Knock upon the door.

Break down these walls.

Ease your kindness into my life;

Simplify this painful equation.

Present yourself - your whole self -

     and I will say hello.

Act.

Do.

Move.

Hold me in your warm embrace.

Tell me everything will be okay.

Convince me this is all worthwhile.

Persuade me to continue the menial.

Encourage me to push forward.

Love me with all that you possess.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Poem written September 14, 2010 as I sat in my car pleading desperately to my apartment window that my love would invade my life once more, that he would come running after me and envelope me with his unending love.

Unfortunately, no. We have not talked in a few weeks.. it's a bit of a long story. I want so much for him to come back to me, but cannot tell him. He needs to decide what he wants out of his life, partially meaning he has to decide he wants me in his life. There is nothing I can do outside of sit and hope. =/
