The last time I let you go

I almost didn’t get you back

You were sitting at the edge of the bed screaming “no”

But I ordered you to drop the weapons and put your hands behind your back

And I remember just before you tried to jump off the cliff and end it all

I grabbed you by your chains and guided you back to pseudo safety

Now I’ve got your heart in my hands and your future pinned up against the wall

Fool me once, shame on you…fool me twice, shame on me



So where do you think you’re going tonight all dressed up, looking like a whore?

Don’t you realize that whoever he is…I want you ten times more?

I’ll put barded wire around the fence and iron bars on the front door

You think you would have already learned your lesson before



You’re not going anywhere without me

Tragedy’s got you twisted and tied up so tight

You’re not seeing anyone except me

So cancel any other plans you’ve made for tomorrow or tonight

Because flies shouldn’t get too close to the light

The last time I said “goodbye”

I almost never again heard you say “hello”

You were standing at the edge of the cliff screaming “I’d rather die”

But I reminded you that no one was going to be there to catch you when you fell far below

And I recall just before you tried to jump off the bed and make that call

I grabbed the phone out of your hand to prevent you from dialing those 3 digits yet again

Now I’ve gotten you all strung up and control your every move like a marionette doll

Tie you up upon the tracks of catastrophe as you realize the light at the end of your tunnel is sadly relentless freight train



So where do you think you’re going today in your most elegant dress and gluttonous galore?

Don’t you realize that wherever it is…right here is where you belong for evermore?

Outside it starts to rain as the thunderstorm of tears begin to pour

Just listen to what I have to say…stop kicking and screaming on the bloodstained floor
