She steers a steady course
Through the stormy straits of my life
And for these reasons
Someday i'll make her my wife
But between soulmate and sea
I'm caught in a strife
And now my whole world
Is like a double edged knife
While she's waving farewell
I wish I was holding that hand
And back on that beach
Leaving our footprints in the sand
But the ocean's calling my name
And I obey her every command
While my lonely lover is at shore
And and sail on unmanned
And its scary that I don't know
When these chains will break free
Forever a prisoner of the sea
And its sad that I don't know
What to say when she asks me
“When will your anchor touch the sea”?
And as I'm half out the door
She begs if she can come travel along
But just beyond the waves
I can hear the sirens singing their song
I know on dry land
Is where I belong
But I signed my soul
To this journey lifelong
I yearn for the day
Where's there's no more “goodbyes”
With kisses goodnight
And sand under my skies
But as I awake from those dreams
Tears start to spill down my eyes
Because until I serve my time
This anchor will stay dry
And its scary that I don't know
When these chains will break free
Forever a prisoner of the sea
And its sad that I don't know
What to say when she asks me
“When will your anchor touch the sea”?
And I'm stranded in the undertow
Down below my grave will be
Between the Devil and the deep blue sea
But there's one thing that I do know
Is that one day i'll get down on one knee
And ask my lover to marry me
The day I throw my anchor into the sea
