(dedicated to the 32 victims who lost their lives at the Virginia Tech school shooting on 4/16/07)
…Here comes the rain…
Sunrise in Shenandoah Valley, but the light failed to shine through the clouds in Blacksburg on that frightful black Monday
An ill-fated cluster of innocent collegians wretchedly received their wings way too soon as tragedy took its terrible toll
An Asian anti-archangel in the Appalachians somehow was lead extensively astray
Afraid to escape to an early afterlife alone, so he selfishly decided to steal nearly several dozen extraordinary souls
Turn on the tainted TV
Another arbitrary assassin in another unsystematic state
Praying that an awful illusion is merely all our eyes sorrowfully see
Another catastrophic case of a ticking time bomb that detonated just a second too soon and was discovered merely a moment too late
Cries of lost love are heard in the wind as the betraying breeze viciously blows
Virginias' fields have never felt such a frigid and ferocious flame
The day the atrocious answers were revealed from the satanic shadows
Was the moment the question mark kid finally revealed his mysterious name
Although we quickly point the finger at one another, we honestly only have ourselves to blame
Events like this always manage to hit home no matter how far or near
Even in England and South Korea, people can all feel the excruciating pain
That travels through their brains when each one of those victims’ names echoes in their ears
Suddenly and prematurely staring death straight in the eye
Waving an early white flag as tears and blood intermix on the concrete floor
Counting down the seconds on the corrupted clock of life without even getting the cherished chance to say one final “goodbye”
Desperately attempting to break out of their casualty cage, but unbreakable chains were holding shut Heavens' doors
Some say that April showers bring May flowers, but those buds will bloom weeks too late
Tragedy always manages to strike at the exact moment when peace and prosperity finally seem to reign
Virginia forever falls victim to forfeited fights on the bloodstained battlefield while forcing to accept its unfortunate fate
And even though they are now six feet under, these special students and faculty members will feel the warmth of the sun on their souls soon once again
…Here comes the rain…
…Here comes the rain…
…Here comes the pain…
Please I do not mean ill -- black monday -- ruins the idea black is beautiful...
Surely it is a tragic monday...
I agree with you
