The Red Carpet Romance

Blood red lips whisper lies of love into my heart

I can’t help but marvel at this brilliant work of art

A megalomaniac masterpiece for the whole world to see

A poisonous perfect princess posing and parading for the paparazzi

Merely another mannequin sadly starring in a motion picture masquerade

But my feelings for her will never fade

The cameras are rolling and she whispers those three words as we begin to undress

Falling in love and foolishly forgetting the fact that she is only an actress

…I never wanted to have to say “goodbye”

But it hurts even more to live this lie…

The corrupted carpet has never been so bright

Winning infinite awards for a mistaken reality that was simply a dream

I shed a tear as I realize that everything you said to me was from a script that you didn’t even write

Lights, Camera, Kiss…and we roll on with the scene

Blood red lies I can taste on my lips

Every single time the Devil I kiss

And with a sinning smile she hisses in my ear

“Don’t worry baby, there is nothing to fear”

She hands me an apple and compels me to take a bite

Assuring me once again that everything will be alright

But I start to taste the poison and I collapse to the floor

Another fallen victim of the Hollywood Whore

…Along with our memories, please bury me

Remembering all those times you said you’d marry me…

The California carpet has never been dyed this red

Lust and deception smeared onto the silver screen

Your name is written in blood above my deathbed

Lights, Camera, Kill…and we forever exit the scene

…I never wanted to have to say “goodbye”

But it hurts even more to live this lie…
