…New England is calling for rebirth…
My eyes are captured by early Autumn sunlight
Blessing the slowly dying leaves off branches
On the outskirts of the town
While the wind blows lightly
From the lungs of the creator
That wills us to be
…New England is calling for rebirth…
The diminutive dam in the river acts as a wall
Holding back the memories of the past
The small towns’ streets are laden with tears from the past
The factory…that old axe factory
Stands as strong as the day it was built
But as the decades passed
Its walls were forgotten and abandoned
From the outside it looks empty and uninviting
Yet the inside of that building offers knowledge on the past
And its walls possess keys into a different world we have never known
…New England is calling for rebirth…
I often walk these late November nights alone at night
Listening to nothing but the wind calling out the names of the towns’ founding fathers
And the crunching of the dead leaves below my frostbitten feet
Just wishing that you were here by my side to join me on this endless Autumn expedition
…New England is calling for rebirth…
You’re off somewhere where the leaves don’t change colors this time of year
And the hustle and bustle of the city is so loud that you can’t even hear yourself think or talk
You’re off somewhere where the only person people care about is themselves
And you’ve forgotten what forests and animals even look like
You need to get out of the old and come into the new
I need someone with me to share this splendid, stunning view
I want that someone…to be you
…New England is calling for rebirth
New beginnings for the planet Earth
New England is calling for rebirth
New beginnings for the planet Earth…
Wonderful piece. I liked the fact you capture the old factories, remind of the founding fathers and appreciate nature instead of the concrete jungle of the city. Where are you in New England? I'm in Mass
