The first day, the morning, the rest of my life

I awoke to such a smile, from such a beautiful face

In her eyes I found a love, in her heart a warm embrace

Her skin was soft, like the pedal of a rose

A touch like nothing I'd ever known, Yes!

It was me, her heart had choose

What seemed to be a long perilous journey, a road without end

Trials and tribulations, I was often my only friend

At 24 life was about to change, I heard my heart say,

This is our chance to start anew, this, a brand new day

As I awoke that morning, unsure of what the day would hold

The first step towards the rest of my life, in story already told

So many books and movies, of love at first sight

Plenty of songs and poems, of heavens filled with light

How could this be? Clearly too good to be true

This, a fairy tale love, of my hearts search for you

Now my world has changed, a new light it seems has shown

See together we'll have learned, together we'll have grown

Because I believe, when all is said and all is done

It is we who will live happily ever after

And our souls together as one
