An Endless Winter

Stripped bare, the armor,

The protective covering of my heart

an open wound, harsh breeze,

It burns, passing over me

Longing for your love

Fully exposed is my pride,

Naked in the winter of our home, alone,

The sun rises, the ground warms

Yet cold is it still, unbearable,

The absence of your love

Casts a shadow over me,

Every breath is visable,

Still the world turns,

Days go by, months, years

Every season is winter now,

So I will wait,

For the spring of my second youth,

The day the sun shines on me again

That day will come, will it not?
