Oh, little butterfly
With wings so full of color,
Flutter softly through the air
Over a green grassy acre.
I tip my hat to you
For having such beauty,
So delicate you are
Not only something God can see.
Only to have wings for a day
To fly freely with you,
Flutter through the gentle breezes
But for now, I bid thee adieu.

That's really clever.
It sounds like something out of a movie, you know, with the eccentric yet wise old man.
i love the part about having wings for a day. never forget to appreciat the small things that hold such beauty. they make life worth living.
I hate butterflys
I opened this poem thinking that it was my own because of the title, but it obviously it wasn't. I was pleasantly surprised to read about your love of butterflies. I too have a great adoration of butterflies and have written about them. Keep writing and posting!
