Peculiar Devotion

You love me with a peculiar devotion

Like teenagers love suicidal rock stars

With so much admiration and pity

And surprise that I'm still here

But I don't want your pedestal

And I'm just sad, I'm always sad

No cause for alarm

And I know you want to save me

But the only thing to save me from

Is you

Amy,
This is a great poem and I'm really moved by it since it's a fear of mine to not be able to save someone. It's a fear and a weakness. I think you did an awesome job on this and I especially liked to the last two lines.

I know this feeling from the other side, but yet, I am not a Messiah. Great writing!
