Tubing and scribbling, much like scribbling and tapping on keyboard and touchscreen.
They offer only temporary relief and more often than not would offer no turn-backs--
once done, woe begone.
Perfect North Slopes, Lawrenceburg, was ever no different. We didn't find enough
snow in the Gatlinburg area that year so we decided to stick closer to home,
east of the Ohio River. No place like Turtle Creek. But Perfect North was just
the spot to galivant, we made our way in two vans and a car; a veritable
busload of bored friends.
Scribbling away is easy enough, even in the dim glow of a night light.
But in the morning there's always that price to pay -- deciphering
can be such a pain and makes one wonder whatever was gained!
Come to think of it, typing and tappin is possibly not much better.
For there is that odd occasion of the odd keystroke or low batt situation.
It's much like failing to get your ducklings lined up as you shove off
and try in vain to correct and steer as the tube shoots down the hill.
No matter the thrill there's an equal frustration. And that makes you
think of counter measures amid all the consternation. In any case, it
will have been quite too late because you've barreled down the hill
and at the mercy of your momentum. And soon it's time to get out
of there and the cue behind you is an ever growing procession.
And if you tarry for any period of time the traffic flow or the terrible
cold is surely gonna get ya.
