Poetry on the ancient Greek

Poetry in the ancient Greek sense was not of rhyme but cadence and elegance in eloquence... rhymes were happenstance or for impact. Best thank nursery rhymes and good times for our ignorance I enjoyed this poem! Well done !

And ancient Roman Poetry was based upon numbers of syllables in the lines, but the lines had to contain a specific amount of long and short vowels---and I am not enough of a scholar to state how they determined whether a vowel was long or short.

It brings memories of the

It brings memories of the pupil's years of tutelage and apprenticeship. It went against the grain for a short time but also instilled a respect and growing love and familiarity with the traditional forms, and their validly being among a wider range of literary expression.
