Author's Notes/Comments:

Written in the mid-80s for a writing friend after many conversations on poetry and suicide during a brief period which resulted in a small body of work tagged the Wittenberg poets. The background is a suicide of their close friend, Stevie, in the early 60s during their W. University days; an event which traumatised Mr. Ballou many decades after. Another attempt at self-offing by the poetic narrator in the early 80s serves as the contrast. Apologies for the serious themes tackled herein.
