I love poems about Autumn; and this strikes me as just such a poem. Tremendous emotion resonates from a few sparse lines. Concision and compression, which this poem adroitly demonstrates, are signs of classic talent---as the great Poet, J. V. Cunningham asserted, decades ago.
Autumn is an almost mystical time of year. The other seasons are pretty straightforward in many ways that autumn isn't. Hard to explain. But it is enigmatic and the transitioning is captivating both visually and to the feel, both emotionally and temperature-wise. Thanks kindly.
