Complicated attraction

I want to tell you a short story

About a young girl and a boy

He fell in love with his best friend,

And his love was so pure,

That it's actually hard to comprehend,

And I know what you're thinking,

No 16 year old has the maturity, emotional surety and security to endure such love

But just as sure as the sun sets

And the moon that rises to chase it's shadow

He was about this girl

Something seemed different to him

Something about this girl

Whether it was endless flow of gorgeous straight hair from her head, like the water flowing down from a waterfall.

Or the big beautiful brown and golden eyes like the depths of heaven, that seem to waver over the blueness of his own.

Or her Lips of pure ecstasy

That are Softer than the clouds and sure as hell more heavenly.

He loves the fact that she looks more beautiful in a sweatshirt and converse kicks than in a dress and heels.

He loves how she is so unfailingly uncoordinated, he loves how she looks so goofy.

He has the utmost respect for this girl

Who has his heart on a string

He wants to spend his lazy Sundays with her,

Instead of out all night partying

He wants her to love him, the same way he loves her.

Because she, is special. She's a one of a kind.

And there is something profound

About the way she says I love you

There is no hollowness in the emission of her words

She means, and she says.

When He holds her in his arms,

And He kisses her on the forehead,

He looks into her eyes

And He is taken away,

Away from the vulnerability and flaws of the human condition.

Into a world where He no longer cares

He looks around and he sees faceless people.

Embarrassment and shame he can't feel anymore.

Because she leaves him breathless.

She holds him so tight as if to save him from falling,

But it's just too late because he's already fallen.

And this poem will never be finished because true love is endless.

And he's not really a love poet, but if he woke up tomorrow morning and he really wanted to write one, he swore his first one would be about you.

About how he loves you the same way he learned to ride a bike.

Scared.

But reckless,

With no training wheels or elbow pads. So that his scars could tell the story of how he fell for her.
