So not looking back we set sail from the shore,
And I tried to forget the love I once bore.
But try as I might, every cold winter's night,
You come back into my mind once more.
For fifteen long years I've been around,
To every old port, beside every new town.
I've been kicked, I've been shoved,
And God I've been loved.
But myself I shall never love again.
As time marches on, I grow older each day.
My young fires are dying in the stench of decay.
In my darkest of days when I feel most alone,
I reminisce of the town I called home.
No one will remember, and nor will they care.
But will the girl that I loved, please still be there.
