These nights alone,

lost in the city lights,

outside my car,

are my refuge from

life.

These nights alone,

where the roads hum,

and the waves of music,

are my only friend. 

These nights alone, 

are my only moments 

of peace.

From the judgement of

family, 

of friends, 

of uncaring strangers. 

How I wish I could regain 

the inner peace I’ve now lost,

that could only have been found

In these nights alone.
