The kiss that you blew up to

the sky was so powerful

and it shook the heavens

so violently,

that the stars began to fall

into Poseidon’s lair,

boiling his ocean like

hot lava.

All the whales of the world

rose to the water’s surface

in order to escape the

scalding heat,

leaping high into the air,

gasping for cool oxygen,

frightening soaring birds

overhead.

And but for a small taste of

this kiss,

I offer you my heart.

I hand it to you openly and freely,

however cracked and bruised

and precious and warm.

So do your worst.

I love this poem!!!

"All the whales of the world rose to the water's surface in order to escape the scalding heat"

You could write an entire piece on just this image Whew.

Illustrative, descriptive and publishable. Push yourself...there seems to be another stanza in there...just before "so do your worst"
