Nuances: Time To Spare

When nanoseconds
became our measure of time,
we felt like we had
lived far longer than the stars;
in slow motion, we sought death.

Author's Notes/Comments: 

Just as slow motion was achieved, in older films, by an increase in the number of frames per second, would time slow down by an increase in the standard measure---from hours to nanoseconds? And would the resulting effect be an interminably boring existence?
