At Damascus

Think back to that Passover week. You saw
him---Jesus---on the Temple's porch one day.
You listened, briefly. What He had to say
proved, surely, that He was no Pharisee;
no, not this carpenter from Galilee
(a place that does not much regard the Law).
You did not linger. He was crucified,
soon after that. You, too, were, in a sense,
later, during that first experience
of Christ the Resurrected. Out you cried
"Who are you, Lord?"; then, for the first time, heard
(with open mind) Christ's sacred, saving Word---
beginning when your Savior deigned to call
your name (despite your recent frenzy), "Saul."

Just Beautiful!

I love most anything written about the apostle Peter. I believe his original name Saul was it not pronounced though Taul? Gorgeous read. I hadn't seen you on in a while to read more of your work but since you came on today to add a poem or two I decided to click on you and am glad I did. I can't find fault with a poet who loves God so much. pssst I love him an awful lot too........... come back soon and share some more, sincerely Melissa Lundeen......................

Thank you for what is one of

Thank you for what is one of the finest compliments I have received since I first hoped to be a poet, and a Christian poet, at the tender age of seventeen years old. I have been contemplating another poem about Paul, to be set just prior to his execution in the Neronian persecution, but I have not been well enough lately to approach so weighty a subject. I would appreciate a mention in your prayers, and I hope you will revisit my gallery of poems anytime you wish.
