At The Apostle Saint John's House in Jerusalem, 2

We asked her what he was like, as a boy
in Nazareth, if he were meek and mild,
or as a youngster maybe a bit wild.
She said, "A normal youth, but without sin."
And, thinking of those memories, she smiled,
and told us, "Unlike some malingerers,
"he loved the work he had, a carpenter's
"apprentice---Joseph mostly made repair
"(farm implements and such); his route was very
"broad, reaching many large farms. Always there
"with him was Jesus, Later, first love's joy
"came with a girl from Magdala, called Mary
"(I knew it from his constant blush and grin):
"their kisses were chaste, pure, and undefiled."
