The "Jesus" certain "scholars" seek in history
is not the same as Jesus Christ who gave to me
the promise that I now possess assured Salvation
which solves an existential problem at my death
(and glad I am of that with every taken breath).
Redeemed now from the horrors of endless damnation,
henceforth my soul rejoices in real exultation,
to praise my Lord and Savior through eternity
where I may worship Him with ceaseless adoration:
Who is my Lord Redeemer crowned in exaltation.

Author's Notes/Comments:
The first two names in the title are German theologians who sought the "historical" Jesus (Bultman's attacks upon the Apostle Saint John's Gospel are just short of blasphemous), that I was compelled to read during my first term at college, in 1976, by the professor whose name is third in the title. I watched that man bring a Christian girl, also a freshman, to tears with his verbal attack upon her Gospel faith during a class session; I should like ever so much to watch him answer to God for it.
