Words Cannot Express

by Elizabeth Van Cleve (May 4, 2009)

Will you marry me?

He said. She smiled

softly. I adore you

he said. She kissed him

warmly. You mean the world

to me and I don't know

what I'd do without you

he said. She hugged him

tightly.  Will you?

he said. She whispered

in his ear--But Love

she said. You and I

are already married.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Written May 4, 2009  When my husband Paul proposed the first time, he didn't actually propose.  He asked me, if he did propose, what I would say?  I told him that I'd say yes.  Then he proposed.  I said yes.  Then he kept asking, to hear me say yes again.  Even after we were married, he proposed.  I found his doing so endearing.

    Content  with your love

Content  with your love for each other and secure in each others affection. This poem has a cosy quality to it, I like very much. To be so assuredly in love must be marvellous.
