The Edge between Light and Darkness
Standing on the edge
between light and darkness.
Looking back into the darkness.
Then looking forward into the light.
Afraid to go forward
into future.
Frightened to go backwards
into the past.
Looking back you see
all the pain, hurt, and sorrow
that you have caused
and gone through.
But looking forward you see
the choices, the chances, and the unknown
that you must go through.
Looking back towards the darkness
and then loking foward towards the light
you wonder should you stay with the past
that you know
or should you change with the future.
Now you must take your step
the only question is
does the light stay light?
Or doe the light change into darkness?
Very powerful. The first line gets you thinking about what all it implies. a chice or a dellimma. it creatyes a very interesting picture in the mind. the last lines summerise and pose a question, is one chice better than the other or not. it leaves room for hope and doubt at the same time. freeverse seems to work well for it.
