THEY WENT WEST BY TRAIN

          They knew they would never be back there.

          They did not care.

          Their hearts pumping in their chests, they left.

          They cried, but they wanted to try.

          They thought their west decision was the best.

          They left for wide open spaces.

         They left for wide open places.

       A lot of land they did understand, on a piece, they wanted to put a hand.

         They left behind the famillar.

         They left behind their families and friends.

         Relationships with them, they did end.

         Who knew what that would find.

          Where they were going to go, they did not know.
