A viewer watching labyrinth, will conclude that
It is simply about a girl, Sarah trying to get her
little, baby, brother, Toby back, from the goblin king.
She said she did not want him, so he came and took him.
She realized that she needed to get him back, so she went
through the labyrinth, to his castle.
Adolescence is the gate between childhood and adulthood. Everybody needs to go through this gate. Everybody needs a key for the lock of the gate. Everybody will find a different key. Getting Toby back is the key to the lock to open the door to adulthood. The goblin king represents childhood. Dealing with the goblin king, and getting Toby back means that Sarah is an adult.
I understand what Jim Henson was trying to do.
I know what he was trying to do.
I liked it. It was a great way to show a child growing into an adult. A girl growing into a woman.
I understand why audiances did not like it.
There were no Muppets.
You cannot beat the Muppets!
Actually, Labyrinth was a GREAT MOVIE! I NEVER get tired of watching it!
