Work In Progress

There are parts of me,

that even now,

After every piece you've managed to destroy or steal,

I will keep hidden from you.

You haven't earned it yet.

You mustn't distrub my view.

You would take it all

And leave me hollow.

So, I'll give you everything,

no action is too extreme,

no verbal abuse too biting,

because you'll never have this.

My physical body is just that shell

That is meant to distract and gleam.

Too keep you from delving deeper,

Too keep you for from my inner most thoughts

because only that meat is taintable

the rest is nothing I cannot recover.

So, I think maybe I sought you out

because I knew you could never

and wouldn't even try

to find this part I keep safe.
