It could be a secret,

One that never shows.



You and I could build a universe,

One that could truly be real,

It could be beautiful,

It could heal.



We have a lot in common,

You and I.

So much in fact that I-

I can't lie.



You and I could exchange a smile,

One that only you and I would see,

You and I could be civil,

If only it were so easy.



You and I could have been

So much more than this,

We could have been envy,

We could have been bliss.

No one would have to know...

It could be our little secret,

Like the faded memories of long ago..
