Under the watchful eyes of the samurai
I am safe
His blade meets with resistance
And rebellion
His words are those of wise men
Though he's still much too young
His heart is kind yet harsh
And he never "burdens" others
Though we all wish to know his secrets
His mind is complex and beautiful
But I suppose what intrigues me most
Is his heart that seems locked up
And divided from the world
Does he know I'm searching?
Looking for a key
A key to unlock his secrets
The secrets in his heart.
When you write this and most things about me I am amazed at the depth of what you see in me without me ever having to even say it. This poem is one of my favorites for the reason that it shows such determination although I am not sure I will ever be able to fully tell you what that burden I will not release is.
