But yet, you wish your ex never asked for my break

Why is that?

Wow, it sounds painful. I hate guys who do stuff like that. You will find someone better than him though, I guarantee you that, :-].
The key to your question is contained in your line saying you left someone you were happy with to be with this person. If you were indeed happy with the other,why would you even consider leaving? The grass is not always greener on the other side,sometimes it's brown. Noone is perfect,but if we accept idiosyncrocies of each other we can meet 50/50 in compromise and be happy.What often seems enticing is not once we have it. I think your piece is good and makes a lot of points but I still think the one line answers your question......
