A flight ensued!
Vehement in the rush of night
A transient flow -
The Eagle and Crow!
One of wit and one of might,
And went to and fro -
The claws in shadow!
And the audience in awe bedight,
Then the night, it wailed -
The Crow prevailed!
Strutting away his new height.
"In awe bedight"
"Gaily bedight, a gallant knight..." Poe also encountered a shadow exhausted and most likely bedight in awe. Enjoyed.
