How Charming, Technology

Folder:
American Ritual

I've been coughing up lockets
decorated with pictures of the devil,
I stuff them all in my weather worn pockets
Because you can't forget evil if its on you,
Were lost again and it's getting old,
You'd think we'd have grow up
and faced the facts that are staring back
because this race is a draw,
No one wins the future,

We're Potent with the stench of tomorrow
While fully aware of the air today,

"How charming, technology"
says the girl with the metal frame,
A digital dame whom you'd admire the wires,
A circuit board of naughty nudes built into,
Where are we going these days
and who would care to clue me in,
We're destined devils and were burning

"How charming,technology"
Says the girl with the metal body
rusted into
Solitude

In regards to our future selves. - December 28th, 2011

Technology has always been a double edged sword in my mind and I think this piece was really an explanation on that. Convenience is great but the connection between people fades with each new gadget and gizmo. - September 6th, 2018

Devil Lockets Apocket

I look back more than forward, my devils are quiet because my angels have sharp axes and kinjals. Fine write - thought evoking lines ~slc~
