Breadcrumbs and Feeling Numb

Are you there now

Around people
Who want you there
Or are you somewhere
You wish you could leave breadcrumbs
In this contraption
Until help comes,
We've done it together
Glued ourselves to screens-
Big screens and tiny ones
That kind that make your life better
But I'll be honest
When I say I'm anxious
And the waiting is warfare

Loose boards buckle
And my own weight?
Gigantic,
But processing these sentences
Makes me feel less lonely
As the longer this thing gets - letter by letter,

Call it magic
This feeling of open sorcery
Casting all these spellings
In a frenzy of irony
Because what am I if not
The crowd swallowed whole
by the monsters of legend told

Sixty seconds in a minute
And I'm counting down
Every
last
one
Until I'm flagged down by motorists
Who are lost in Kansas City,
I've never been to Kansas City.

I Love This Writing!

Your artistry rocks the ship of great verse. Throughly enjoyed, especially the irony.  -  allets.
