Safe Places are Never Safe Enough

I don't think I deserve

To be happy
As selfish as that may seem
I'm stuck on this melody,
A broken symphony
We both play
While we're both killing time
Poking the bear at peace

Are the trees coming down
To see what's the matter?
They always cared more
Than I knew
I took advantage of
Them too

The world left me
When I got tall,
Grew away from the ground
Without a root to keep me,
Lockjaw in absentia
As long as I'm with you,
We can call this a draw
But life doesn't secede
To the living

I'm moving on
With a window that's fogging up,
Glass bated breath
On my lost bottom boat
Sunk in the River Styx,
Where do I belong
In this apple core ate out?
Tasted when red
Follow me there, Lady
Or wherever your heart is lead
Because it's as red too
