Wings Casting Shadows
Drifting on whispers that gently tuck you in,
doting sweet words to never grow old
Bestowed upon a smile - warmed by a kiss,
blessings and comforts in the surrounding's hold
Bundled in cradle - tended by watchful eyes,
care that assures every breath rises and falls
A guarding angel - sits mother by your side,
wings casting shadows upon Heaven's walls
Beneath a halo from love's gathered light,
numinous presence - the quiescence for sleep
Shimmering radiance - heart of one's home,
soft bosom providing nurturing keep
Cross over into the soothing glow's touch,
slumber continues beyond what's seen
With moonlight's shine, you dance with every star,
'till time to awaken - her sun's brightest sheen

Into her arms - your wish to always be,
but life's days grow gray and eternity calls
Though soul to rise - sits mother by your side,
