Falling into You (About Last Night)

Folder:
Letters to Petula

Your every touch, my love,

Leaves me breathless

With every touch you leave me

Craving for more, I'm begging for more

Can't you see it in the way I look at you?

I don't have a voice if I don't have a song

Or a word to explain how it feels

To fall into you, to fade into you

To dissolve into you

When we make love, when my body is yours

I am pouring myself through every word

Every line and pouring myself out

Through every day that I let go

And when I let go, I let go completely

Till nothing is left, and I'm falling

Falling helplessly into you

And if you have to ask why

If you want to know why

I don't have an answer

I am as mute as a life

Waiting to be born

All I can tell you is

You can't set me on fire

And expect me not to burn...

I am the tree, the bush

in the centre of a forest fire

That explodes into flames

With your every look

Your every touch

- For my wife, Petula

Author's Notes/Comments:

Not sure if I'd call this poem "good" by my usual standards but I'm posting it because of the raw intensity of the current feelings.
