there is nothing to worry about
the fear of an empty space does our mind clout
the presence of the unknown and the uncertainty of the unseen
it's the hidden that make brave men cry
as danger stares at you in the face, we either fight or flee the scene
but the buildup to the climax presents a terror that cannot be seen
there are no monsters under the bed
yet why does darkness fill us with dread
bravery fades in the face of no discernible danger
the fear of the pain of being hit
Alfred Hitchcock said it best
there is no terror in the bang only in the anticipation of it
Terror As Anticipatory
