Tears shed in memory's sake,

or those that fall in the moments

of our grief and sorrow~

those are the tears,

the tears we keep.



The tears that flow from laughing eyes

in times of blissful joy

and gather in a smile's corner~

those are the tears,

the tears we keep.



The one's that seep inside our soul,

afraid to be allowed passage,

afraid that other's will know

their source~

those are the tears,

the tears we keep.



Tears~

we discard so many,

the painful and hurtful ones.

But 'those' tears,

each tiny droplet,

the ones filled with liquid emotion~

each solitary tear,

cascading slowly,

can tell an entire story~

those are the tears,

the tears we keep.
