Up there on the stage,
you in cap and gown.
I couldn't hold back the tears,
I couldn't help the frown.
My heart was filled with love,
and it overflowed with pride.
I found it hard to contain,
all the joy I had inside.
When your name was called,
and you took your diploma in your hand.
I felt my heart just break a bit,
for my little boy became a man.
The graduating class then stood,
your caps flew in the air.
Laughter and screams rose among the group,
like none of you had a care!
I watched you son, with such delight,
and I felt such a devotion.
See, a Mother's love for her child,
is the strongest of emotions!
