A Little More Each Day

Folder:
Pain/Ilness

Time drips by

like rain off a roof

pooling below me

in infinate proof.

Today came from yesterday

now left in the past

tomorrow still waits

but it won't last.

Diseased and imperfect

nature's cruel joke

leaving me weakened

in it's holding choke.

It dances around

in taunting mock

trying to trip the hands

that turn my clock.

Rattling my bones

loose from their core

till screams emit

begging, 'No more!'

I sit chained up

in my interior cell

convinced this must be

that living hell.

The future's uncertain

when you live this way

as death creeps closer

a little more each day.
