Dear American Soldier,

I find the need to make it known

you're in my heart, though far from home.

I think of you, each day, each night.

You're in my prayers as you onward fight.

You need to know, you're appreciated.

You're loyal, your're brave, you're dedicated.

I support you fully in your task at hand

in liberating the oppressed, in foreign land.

You're missed by many, but please take heart-

America cares for you loved ones, while you're apart.

We keep the homefires, brightly alit.

Our flags are flying in patriotic spirit.

Yellow ribbons adorn lapels and many front doors

their wrapped around oaks and sycamores.

We await your return, safe and sound

when your duty is done and your finally homebound.

We'll welcome you back with open arms,

to your big cities, suburbs or country farms.

Dear Soldier, remember, I'm proud of you-

YOU are the best part, of the Red, White and Blue!

Thank you for sharing this poem, I know that if my friends who are in the 82nd and the marines read that that they would too be thankful. The soldiers are having a hard time, and its poetry, words, and writing like that that is keeping them alive.
God Bless!
