It's sad that I pass you and no longer know who you are.
No longer are you my best friend, but just another stranger among the many in the crowded halls.
We don't talk on the phone for countless hours anymore.
Nor do I hear your guitar accompanied by your sweet voice on the other line.
I don't have a bond with you like we once did.
I can hear your voice echo in my mind when you walk right by.
Never do you give me a second glance.
I don't see the joy I used to see in your bright blue eyes anymore.
You walked out of my life.
My the door to my heart is locked and guarded.
And yet... I still stand there waiting for you to come back.
I can relate to this.....
I can relate to this..... except I'm the boy and it's the girl that left. lol It's hard on one's heart to remember the ghost of what has been, and to see the reality of what is. But there's a third realm of time: the future. You have your whole life ahead (old sounding I know), and your Prince Charming will come. About the poem: I like it. It has a kind of haunted ring to it, and that seems to ring true to my personal experience. Love your work and keep it up!
