quietly the music plays
his hands rest on her waist
slowly, back and forth they sway
dancing without haste.
in circles they spin around
her head rests on his shoulder
she feels like she's not touching ground
if only tighter he would hold her.
she wants to know if what she's feeling
is love or foolish pride
his lips on hers left her mind reeling
in that moment she could have died.
she felt the kiss from head to toe
and yes, it left her with a smile
the feeling of her first kiss she would know
for a long while.
the kiss will linger on her lips
for as long as she loves him
the soft touch of his fingertips
will always make her head spin.
yes, the feeling that she felt
wasn't foolish pride but love
the day that on one knee he knelt
was the day she found true love.
I love this! :)
When I read, it was really vivid. Your potery has rhythm that I can't find words to explain. As another poet, I don't say that very often! Haha.
thanks!
