My Friend´s Zippo
My friend has a very special zippo, he carry it wherever he goes, no matter where, his zippo is with him. It is very old; I remember that he told me that he needed to reconstruct all the metal case because it was unusable; he also told me that he repaired all the internal things because it was broke and it didn´t work. His zippo has been with him almost 11 years now; he got it when he was 10 years old. He use it for everything, I remember one time, we were camping in Canada, and we wanted to make a bonfire because it was very cold, so we put some lighter gas on a piece of paper that I was holding, and when he turned on, I threw the paper to the bonfire, but accidentally it hit my friend´s jacket, and it burned a little bit, almost the entire back. He yelled at me, and for the rest of the night he was angry and cold. I remember that he treated his zippo almost like his pet; one time he was making tricks with it at school, and the principal saw him and he took away his zippo. He was very upset about it because he wasn´t doing anything wrong, so at the launch hour, when the principal was out eating, somehow he sneaked to his office and took his zippo back. His zippo is like a friend to us, in the trip to Canada, it was with us in all the good, bad, fun, and sad moments. It was with us when we almost got expelled from the international program, when we needed to walk in the night for three hours in the rain because we lost the bus, in our birthdays and parties, his zippo was the one who turned on our candles; his zippo was with us no matter what. His zippo is not only a lighter, it is a symbol that represents the personality of my friend, it is something that characterize him from the others, it is like a book full of stories and memories, that every time I look at it I remember all the things that we´ve been through. But at the end of the day, someday his zippo will get lost, or it will break, or someone will still it, but nobody will ever still, break, or lost all the moments that we had during that time.
